Rosneft’s shipyard wrecks USC ship, USC says can file suit

ST.PETERSBURG, Oct 30 (PRIME) -- A shipyard belonging to Russian oil major Rosneft wrecked the Admiral Kuznetsov vessel of United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) during its launch early on Tuesday.

USC CEO Alexei Rakhmanov said that USC will have to sue Rosneft to cover the cost of repairs, “We will have to do this. Because the Defense Ministry does not cover insurance and therefore the vessel was not insured. We will have to present claims for the works which we need against those who could not complete the docking operation,” Rakhmanov said.

The incident with Admiral Kuznetsov will not affect the terms of its repair, he said.

An official at Rosseti power grid said that no blackouts occurred during the launch of the vessel, denying media reports.
